At Australia’s key export port of Hay Point, Queensland, we manage a marine fleet of three (3) ASD tugboats and one (1) line boat to support bulk commodity shipping.

To-date, our operation has achieved 7-years of recordable injury free towage operations whilst operating the fleet with class-leading reliability and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

As Fleet Technical Superintendent, you will be responsible for upholding the asset management standards within the Business Unit together with our marine crews and local stakeholders.

These are some of the duties you will be required to perform:

1. Lead the Technical function in the Business Unit
2. Support Fleet Engineers in Asset Lifecycle Management and condition-based maintenance
3. Deliver the overall fleet maintenance and docking strategy
4. Oversee continuing Class and Flag State compliance for all vessels
5. Build and maintain relationships with key internal stakeholders and Clients
6. Identifying procurement optimisation opportunities for fleet spares and maintenance requirements

As a member of the Hay Point shore-based team, you will be expected to:

1. Work with the team to deliver the day-to-day functions of the Hay Point office
2. Coach vessel crews and shore-side teams to achieve a high safety performance and cultivate a strong safety culture
3. Perform scheduling duties on rotation with Hay Point teammates

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

You will hold tertiary qualifications in Marine Engineering and/or minimum Engineer Class III (Class I preferred) and:

1. Be safety-focused
2. Have a continuous improvement mindset
3. Computer literate and familiar with navigating through modern asset maintenance systems
4. Know how to deliver practical solutions to complex problems
5. Have strong verbal and written communication skills
6. Work well both autonomously and in a collaborative team environment
7. Have experience and/or qualifications in ISM/ISO/Class
8. Be familiar with AMSA/flag State regulatory requirements
9. Hold, or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
