About the Opportunity

Role: QHSE Advisor
Location: Townsville, QLD
Business Unit: Riverside Marine Townsville
Position Type: Permanent Full-Time

Reporting to the General Manager of Townsville Operations and the QHSE Advisor provides support to Riverside Marine Townsville (RMT), Magnetic Island Ferries and RMT - AIMS Operations. 

Interactions and relationships with varying roles, such as;

  • Operations Managers
  • Vessel Crew Contractors
  • General Contractors
  • Internal and External Auditors
  • Customer and Port Stakeholders
  • Group QHSE

About You!

We are looking for a forward-thinking individual with a strong heavy industrial and QHSE experience, preferably with marine experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in safety supporting high-risk industrial operations
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting QHSE Management systems, including skills in writing safety-related documents
  • Heavy industrial QHSE business acumen
  • Working knowledge of WHS legislation, regulations and codes of practice
  • High-level competency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly MS Word and PowerPoint
  • Experience operating within digitised document control library systems
  • Experience operating within digitised QHSE databases (incident reporting, hazard reporting, action tracking etc.)
  • Demonstrated success in building relationships and influencing staff at all levels
  • Preferred experience supporting QHSE functions, either within or contracted to, top tier resources companies
  • Customer service experience – the ability to interact with internal and external customers and solve problems over the phone, via video conference, or in person.
  • Professional presentation

Qualifications and Training

  • Certified Lead auditor qualifications (Safety Management Systems / Quality Management Systems)
  • Essential - Tertiary qualification in Safety Management, or related discipline (Diploma acceptable with appropriate experience)
  • Preferred ICAM or other recognised Lead Investigator qualification
  • Preferred Cert IV TAE
  • Marine industry experience, including ISM management systems (Marine – International Safety Management Code) will be considered favourably.
